Easter at Bamboo Creations

Albo Striata from bamboo creations victoria
Albo Striata
Bamboo Creations are open during Easter

Our Bamboo Nursery is open during Easter from 9 - 5 on all days except Good Friday. We have lots of bamboo on special over this time.  Please call us on 1300 654 454 to arrange an appointment.  We prefer an appointment so we can show you our extensive range of different bamboo and answer all your questions about this fantastic plant.

New Bamboo added to our Website

We have added the Albo Striata (pictured to the left) to our website.  The botanical name for this plant is
Bambusa multiplex albo striata.  This is a clumping type of bamboo with a clump diameter of 1 metre.  It has a maximum height of approx 8 metres.  This is an upright, tight clumping bamboo that is stunning to look at with dark green culms and white striations.  There is more information about this on our website.  You can either find this through the bamboo information page as this has been added to the bamboo table.  This table has a link directly to the bamboo product page.  You can all also access this new bamboo through the clumping bamboo category.

Bamboo  Fibre Underwear and Singlets

We are currently working on adding our bamboo fibre underwear and singlets to the website.  These are made from the same high quality material as our bamboo fibre socks.  We are also working on a shopping cart for these products as we have been asked by many people at our markets about where to purchase these high quality products.  We will let you know when this is available - coming soon.

Have a happy and safe Easter break from all at Bamboo Creations Victoria

Comments received from customers.

We had a great question/comment on our facebook page that we thought would be great to display on our blog.

Comment: "Love your stuff, but Im not one who 'calls' for prices (nor 'asks' at markets or in stores) if it aint marked, I dont buy! Your website is very nice otherwise, good job"

Answer: "Bamboo Creations Melbourne Victoria Thanks for your feed back Michelle. There are many reasons why we do not put our prices online. The main reason is we like to talk to our customers to ensure they have the correct info on our products and understand why they are priced as they are. Also, prices can and do change regulary depending on propagation success and stock levels. We also discount on larger orders. So dont be shy and give us a call - we now have a 1300 number to make it cheaper for you also (1300 654 454)."

Products on special.

We have Pygmy on special this month (according to the frog on our website). We are selling them for $10 instead of $15. Great ground cover bamboo and can even be used as an evergreen lawn.

See you all at Melbourne International Flower and Garden Show !!!

The massive range of bamboo offered by Bamboo Creations
We are available for all your Bamboo Needs.

Not sure why we have called this entry "Our Nursery is open this weekend" as it is open most weekends.  We are here for you with all your Bamboo needs.  We do, however, ask that you call on 1300 654 454 before you come.  This is so we can give you our full attention.  Our nursery has a lot of different varieties of bamboo and we would like to show you the fully range.  You can also ask a lot of questions without other people around.

We have some exciting news: Bamboo Creations will now be exibiting at the Melbourne Internationl Flower Show. We are looking forward to showing some of our stunning plants in a plant lovers environment.

Bamboo Special

We have a special on pygmy bamboo.  The normal price is $15 per plant and we are currently selling them for $10.  If my maths is correct, this is 33% off - yes that is correct a 33% discount on our Pygmy bamboo. Please ring on 1300 654 454 and secure your plants while they are cheap. Our website has information about this plant but basically it is a ground cover spreading bamboo. "Pygmy Bamboo is one of the smallest bamboos that can be planted in many ways as a border or ground cover."

Commonly Asked Questions

When we attend markets and expos we talk to many people, here are a couple of commonly asked questions:

Why is Bamboo so Expensive?
Bamboo is priced as a result of the propagation process. With general plants, one person may take 1500 cutting or sow 1000's of seeds per day and obtain close to a 100% success rate. With bamboo, one person may complete the same numbers in roughly two weeks, then have to wait up to one year and achieve no more than a 10% success rate. Bamboo cuttings can only be taken with a certain aged material at a specific time of year. There is not guarantee of success. It is a labour intensive operation. In short, we only sell quality plants. There are cheaper version of bamboo around (even from other states). Be careful with these plants. We have tested our plants in the current environment and climate to give the best possible product to our customers.

How do I screen out a neighbour?
Why spend extra money on a tall fancy fence. You can install a standard cheaper fence between you and your neighbour then plant a row of bamboo in front of the fence.  You will no longer need to look at a standard fence or your neighbour. You will be looking out at a green screen. Bamboo can even screen out a 2 storey building - we can advise on the best bamboo for your needs.

Markets

This weekend we will be taking our bamboo roadshow to Violet town and Mornington. We would love to see you there.

Remember we give bulk discounts for orders over 10 plants. Give us a call to discuss your requirements.

We also provide a free delivery service to the multitude of markets that we attend. Please ring on our
1300 654 454 phone number to place your order.
