Christmas is just around the corner so we have been busy at the nursery getting all our stock ready for the Festive Season. We have all types of bamboo starting from as low as $19.  Whether you are after something small which you can nurture or something a little more established we have the full range. We propagate most of our stock so it is ready for the Melbourne climate. 

With our bamboo knowledge and stock ready to look at and purchase, why not come out to Bamboo Creations Nursery and say G'Day. We update our website regularly with opening times (things do change from time to time). We also update our website with all the events that we attend. 

If you cannot get to the nursery then why not give us a ring and we can take the order over the phone and even deliver it to your door (delivery charges apply).

Murrumbateman here comes Bamboo Creations Victoria

We are on the road again. The last interstate event was in Kariong on the N.S.W. central coast. We had a great time there so we are now heading up to Murrumbateman near Canberra.

Murrumbateman is between Yass and Canberra. This is another multi day event due to its size. It started in the 70's with about 23 exhibitors. This has grown each year with it now over 400 exhibitors. Bamboo Creations Victoria are one of the family and have our stall full of wonderful Bamboo products for you to look at and purchase. We will also be there with all our Bamboo experience so bring along your questions and come and say Hi. 

This event is on this weekend - Saturday 21st from 8am - 5pm and Sunday 22nd October from 8am - 4pm. The address of the event is 19 East Street, Murrumbateman. The Kariong Plant Lovers Fair is very quickly approaching. This is where we will load up the Bamboo Creations van with lots of bamboo plants and other bamboo products and head to New South Wales to attend this exciting event.

As you can see by the picture on the right it runs on Sat 23rd (8am - 4pm) and Sun 24th September 2017 (9am - 3pm). This massive 2 day event is held on the New South Wales central coast at the Kariong Mountains High School. The actual Kariong Plant Lovers website has a FAQ page if you need more information about the event. We have a link to this page from our site if you are interested (www.bamboo-plants.com.au).  

This event has over 40 different exhibitors. The following are the types of exhibitors you will be seeing: Perennials, Herbaceous Plants and Bulbs – for Cool & Warm Climates, Edible plants – Herbs, Fruit and Vegetables, Ornamental Shrubs, Trees and Australian Native Plants, Orchids, Bromeliads, Carnivorous Plants, Ferns, Bonsai, Cacti and Succulents, Garden Accessories and Special Interest​ and of course Food and Beverages​. This is a pretty comprehensive list for plant lovers, so you should be able to find something that takes your fancy.

Yes that is correct. We are currently selling our Gracilis plants for just $39. This is a limited time offer so be quick if you would like some of these great plants.

Spring is just around the corner so you may as well make use of this offer and be ready to go when the weather gets a little warmer. For all those people that don't mind the cooler weather then go crazy and prepare your garden ready for the sun to warm things up. If you are still trying to keep away from the cold then you can keep the plant in the pot until you are ready to put it in the ground. Just don't forget to keep it moist.

Planting Bamboo in the winter

Gracilis on special at Bamboo Creations Victoria

Winter is now upon us and some people find it a struggle to get out into the garden from the warmth of the house. If this is the case then those bamboo specials from Bamboo Creations Victoria can remain in the pot until the weather gets better. Bamboo needs to be kept moist so don't forget to water the plants, maybe every second day. Once spring then comes around, you can get back out into the garden and plant all those lovely bamboo that you have accumulated over the winter period.

Speaking of specials, Bamboo Creations Victoria have Gracilis on special. Give us a ring or come and visit the Nursery (please check the website in case we have had to change our hours - thank you). If you ring and order over the phone we still have the deal where you can collect the plants for free from one of our events that we attend.

Bamboo Creations attending a new event - Kariong Plant Lover Fair, NSW

Bamboo Creations are loading up the van with bamboo goodies and are heading up to New South Wales in September to attend the Kariong Plant Lovers Fair. Kariong is on the NSW central coast near Gosford. This is a brand new event for Bamboo Creations and we are very excited. We will give you more information later but this is a quick note to let you know we are coming and for you to put aside the 23 and 24th Sep 2017 to come and say Hi.

There will be over 40 different exhibitors showcasing many different varieties from ornamental to food plants. There are guest speakers and a workshop demonstration program.

We will be bringing our bamboo plants as well as plenty of bamboo products such as our high quality bamboo socks (give you feet a treat).

Bamboo Creations Victoria have Gracilis on special over Easter

We have spoken before about the wonderful Gracilis Bamboo. This is because it is one of our most popular Bamboo. Over the Easter period we will be having this Bamboo on special starting from $35. 

Bambusa textilis var. gracilis or commonly known as Slender Weavers Bamboo is a fast growing, clumping type of bamboo. Grow it along a fence line to block out the neighbours. Like one of our pictures on the right, you can just see the neighbours house. Imagine the same picture in a few years time. Privacy with a nice green screen. 

This bamboo will grow to about 6 metres tall but can be cut and hedged if you don't want it to grow that big. It has a nice tight clump with a cane diameter of about 4cm. Come along to our Nursery in Riddells Creek over Easter to see this bamboo and all our other bamboo and take home a few specials.

Hedge bamboo to screen unwanted buildings

Easter is a special time for us so we are making it a special time for you. We have many bamboo on sale over the Easter period from as little as $15.90. The most popular bamboo in our large range is the wonderful Gracilis. Gracilis will be on sale from $35. Also, have you ever wanted to block out neighbouring buildings with a lovely green hedge. Why not think about our Hedge Bamboo (botanical name - Bambusa Multiplex). Hedge bamboo is a clumping type of bamboo and will grow to about 3-4. This bamboo will also be on sale over the Easter period so plan a trip to our nursery to have look at our full range of bamboo.

The Collectors Plant Fair is sneaking up on us very quickly. We are now in Autumn and this is a spectacular autumn show. This fair features 70+ growers and plant lovers with different and rare plants that you would not normally see. Speak to the growers about the different and rare plants and how they could complement your own garden.

Bamboo Creations Victoria are taking our van up to Sydney for this event as we love to show off our wonderful Bamboo Plants. We still have our Khasia on special and this will be traveling with us to Sydney along with plenty of other bamboo plants. We will even be taking some of our high quality bamboo products. Your feet will thank you for the bamboo socks - anti-bacterial properties make these socks high quality and a treat to wear.

The Collectors Plant Fair is held on Sat 8th & Sun 9th April at the Hawkesbury Race Club - 1 Racecourse Road, Clarendon NSW. It is open from 8am-4pm on Sat and 9am-4pm on Sunday. Come along and say Hi.

New events added to Bamboo Creations Victoria website

We have now altered our website to include new events for the coming months (up until June). These have been listed down the left hand side or on the bottom of the page depending on the device you are using. We have planned many different events covering many different locations to try and take our bamboo to as many people as possible. Why not have a look (www.bamboo-plants.com.au) and come to one of these events to say Hi.

Events to be aware of: we are heading up to Sydney in April to attend the collectors fair at Hawkesbury. This is a 2 day event. Will give you more information about this later but for all Sydney people (and people traveling to Sydney in April) pencil in the 8th and 9th April. We are attending most of our regular events and are heading back to Mansfield in June.

Drepanostachyum Khasianum or known as Khasia bamboo

Khasia Bamboo on special at Bamboo Creations Victoria

Our frog on our website has been changed to show that Khasia Bamboo is now on special. A 20cm pot with a 2 metre Khasia bamboo was $69 and is now selling for $49. This is nearly a 30% discount. Get in quick as stocks are limited.

Khasia is a clumping type of bamboo with spectacular white and purple rings around the internodes. This bamboo likes certain climates. It will tolerate full sun if moist and mulched or planted in a colder climate. Is not very frost hardy. If in doubt as to where to plant this bamboo, please give us a call on 1300 654 454 and have a chat to one of our bamboo specialists.

Khasia is a clumping type of bamboo with a clump size of about 1 metre. This can form a beautiful lime green screen to a height of about 4 metres. To form a screen you need to plant each bamboo plant about 1 metre apart. This also does quite nicely in pots as a specimen plant either indoor or outdoor. Bamboo Creations at Seymour Alternative Farming Expo

The Seymour Alternative Farming expo is turning 25, yes that is correct this year they celebrate their 25th anniversary. We are very lucky to be part of this milestone as we will be attending this years expo with our van full of bamboo plants and products.

The Expo will be running in February from Friday 17th to Sunday 19th. The expo is sooo big that it gives you 3 days to be able to see it all. According to their website, there will be over 500 exhibitors at the expo (including us at Bamboo Creations Victoria).

Our stall should be around the middle oval so come over and say Hi. There will be a full program of guest speakers and demonstrations. The theme of this years expo is going green. The site will be powered Green Power Solutions, Australia's cleanest and most reliable generators using Biodiesel.

The expo is in the magnificent town of Seymour on the mighty Goulburn River just over an hours drive from Melbourne. It is held in Kings Park on Tallarook St in Seymour. It is open from 8:30am - 4pm daily.

Bamboo Creations Victoria in the high country

A new year brings a new market. We are venturing up into the high country to attend the Mansfield Bush Market. Mansfield is magnificent this time of year with plenty of bush walking and wineries to keep you entertained as well as visiting Bamboo Creations Victoria in the Mansfield Bush Market. This market is held on Highett Street on the 28^th Jan 2017 (Australia Day Weekend) from 8am – 2:30pm. The Mansfield shire will be closing Highett Street between Curia and Hunter streets which is the length of the market so you can relax and enjoy the different stalls.

Wonderful Bamboo

Once established, bamboo is very drought tolerant. A little water during the summer months will ensure that is ready for autumn and the cold winter months. Our bamboo has been grown in Victoria for the Victorian climate. All our bamboo is frost hardy and quick growing. They can block out unwanted views in less than 2 years. From one end of Victoria to the other in the same weekend. From the high country to the beach down at Foster (near Wilsons Promontory). We are attending the Foster market on the 29^th Jan 2017. This is held on Station Street in Foster.
