Our next market is Mornington at the racecourse. We will be taking many plants with us so you can view all the different types of Bamboo available. Come and talk to us about your requirements and we can show you the right Bamboo.  We will be taking lots of Gracilis with us. We will also be taking Silverstripe and Cream Stripe (see picture) for you to view and purchase.  These are all clumping bamboo where all the culm (storks) clump together.

More on Siverstripe Bamboo (Bambusa Multiplex cv.)

Spring is a great time for Silverstripe as all the new foliage shoots in bright variegated white stripes. Very striking to look at.  Variegated means: displaying differently coloured spots, patches, streaks, etc. Silverstripe is a clumping type of bamboo.


Meaning of Clumping

Clumping Bamboo means that the plant will clump together instead of spreading or running from one place to another.  Over time this bamboo will add new stalks around the edge of the clump making the clump grow in a circular pattern. Silverstripe will clump to a diameter of around 1.8 metres.

Bambusa Multiplex cv. (Silverstripe Bamboo)

Silverstipe is a beautiful clumping bamboo typically growing to 4m high with a 4cm cane diameter. It has an elegant vase shape which makes it perfect for a specimen plant or hedging. This bamboo is in the Best Screening section of our website as it can be used to create a privacy screen around your garden. Try planting the Silverstripe bamboo plants between 1-1.5 metres apart. When they grow, they will fill in the gaps between them to form a hedge with their beautiful striped leaves

The foliage and mature canes have random silver stipes making for an eye pleasing two tone effect. 

It will handle extreme heat and temperatures down to -12 degrees.

This Sunday the 26Th of August is Flemington Craft Market. Bamboo Creations will be at the market from 9:00am to 2:00pm, with a large selection of bamboo for you to choose from.
We give our clients our full attention and  assistance, to choose the right bamboo. Come with lots of questions about bamboo and we will do the best to answer them. Previously about 80% of our clients needed a quick growing screen to block out unwanted views.
